Here is a list of the most frequently asked questions we get on a day to day basis. If you do have any additional questions please do not hesitate to send us an email to enquiries@fishtankfish.com.au

How long does it take to prepare and ship my order?

We generally ship Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday to avoid any delays causing livestock to be held at a depot over the weekend. Most of our stock we have available in store. But often some items especially Feeder Fish and Live Plants we receive on a weekly basis (usually Thursday/Friday) so your order will not be shipped untill the following week.

Do I need to be home to sign for my order?

Yes! All deliveries by either courier company will require a signature upon delivery so please make sure someone is there to sign for it. We do instruct our couriers to leave the order at the address if they feel it is safe to do so. This is at the couriers discretion and is on a case by case situation. If no one is able to sign for the delivery you may need to go and collect it from your nearest depot.

What is your DOA policy?

We offer a 100% live delivery guarantee* on all our livestock!

Can the courier give me a call when they are about to deliver the package?

No, we are in no control of the couriers service, and no couriers service will offer to do this, yes it would be great, but unfourtunately couriers will not contact you when they are about to drop off your order.

Can I choose the sex of the fish, or colour etc..?

No, we will not accept these types of requests, fish come to us, and are shipped at random, your best chance is to order a number of the same species. Obviously for certain fish if it states the fish is a certain colour we will ship that colour. For example "Red Fighting Fish" will be red.

Can I come to your store and choose my fish?

No, we are an online store only and do not offer this service.

Do you ship internationally?

No unfortuntely we can only ship domestically.

I think you sent the wrong fish – it doesn’t look the same as the one on your website. What should I do?

Please keep in mind that your aquarium fish has only recently arrived from its long journey, so it will be a little stressed from the transit and can lose its colour. The colour should come back shortly. Also, the photos on our website are representative to show you what the fish will most probably look like and are for reference only. Generally your shipment will contain young aquarium fish, and they wouldn’t have matured yet. If you still do not believe this is the correct fish, please take a photo and send it to us at enquiries@fishtankfish.com.au

I think the fish you sent are the wrong size, what do I do?

Sizes on the website are an estimate, so give it 1cm grace. Fish are measured from the tip of the nose to tip of the tail. Sometimes we will send a slightlly larger (more expensive) size if the smaller ones are out of stock. If you believe you have been sent the wrong size, simply take a photo of the fish lying against a ruler, and send it into us at fishtankfishonline@gmail.com

The packaging box looks used?

At Fish Tank Fish we care about the environment and we make all attempts to recylce polystyrene boxes and plastic bags wherever possible. With the number of fish we buy we receive alot of larger boxes that's why we try and use them to pack orders in when they are in good condition
