Danios are freshwater tropical fish that originate from Asia, in particular Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Danios are extremely hardy and make good aquarium inhabitants especially when kept in larger schools of 5 or more. Danios do best in a tropical aquarium of at least 30L, kept at 25-27°C, with a pH of 6.5-7.2 and KH of 5. However will handle conditions vastly different to this.

Fish that coexist with Danios in the aquarium include other species of danios, tetras, rasboras, corys, and other community fish that thrive in a tropical environment. Danios are omnivores and will accept most flake foods such as Sera Vipan and pellets such as Hikari Micro Wafers, but should also have some small foods such as frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms to supplement their diet with.
