Road Courier Service

Road courier costs are $17.95 per order and will be added to the order total before checkout. We use either Fastways or TOLL for courier deliveries. Transit times vary between locations however usually take 18-48 hours from time of dispatch.

Next Day Air Freight

If your postcode is not listed above and you would like to order live fish we can still deliver livestock to your door using Toll Priority Next Day air freight. Once we know what you would like to order and your address, we can organize a precise shipping quote for you.

Orders can be shipped to your home, work or any other physical address you specify (orders cannot be shipped to PO Boxes).

Dispatch Days

We only ship livestock on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to minimize the risk of any delays in delivery times and orders being held at depots over the weekend. All in stock orders will be shipped within 7 business days (usually much sooner though). In the rare case that an item is out of stock or requires us to specially order in, we will let you know and inform you of an expected time frame.

Packing your order

To ensure you receive your fish in optimal health, we take a number of precautions. After selecting your fish, we pack with enough water with the correct water parameters for the species chosen. The bags are then added with plenty of oxygen, a water additive that relieves stress and limits waste. We then seal the bags with an aluminium ring. If required, disposable heat packs or ice packs are also added to the insulated box.

Tracking Details

You will be emailed an order tracking number when your order has been packed and dispatched, so that you can track the progress of your order online and ensure you are ready to take delivery of it.

Tracking numbers are usually not activated until midnight the day of shipment. The online tracking service is NOT run by Fish Tank Fish and we are not responsible for the delay in the information provided by the online tracking service. If you do not receive your shipment in the expected time slot, please contact the courier (once we have shipped your order, we are no longer in control of delivery).

Order Delivery/Receipt

All orders require signature on delivery. We recomend you or someone else be available to sign for receipt of your order. Otherwise depot collection may be required. Please note that if a courier attempts delivery and no one is there to sign for it and depot collection/redelivery is required the live guarantee does not apply

Returns and Replacements

We offer a 100% live delivery guarantee* on all our livestock!

In the rare case that something in your order arrives dead, or is missing, please take a photo of the contents in the original shipping bag and email it to us within 24 hours of your order being delivered. We’ll arrange for a refund or store credit for you – whichever you prefer. Please note that if a courier attempts delivery and no one is there to sign for it and depot collection/redelivery is required the live guarantee does not apply

Unfortunately, due to the extent of packaging required to safely ship live fish, we cannot accept returns on livestock as this endangers the health of the specimens.

Dry good returns are only accepted if the goods are faulty.
